Eetcafé Royal in Zoutelande is a popular restaurant on the Zeeland coast, known for its fresh fish dishes and Zeeland specialties. It has a cozy, informal atmosphere and a terrace behind the dunes, ideal for a relaxed and ‘quick’ meal.
With 420 seats, good structure, efficiency, and speed are a must. All-round employee Tycho, who has been working at Eetcafé Royal since he was fourteen and therefore knows the restaurant inside out, confirms this. This is the third summer that Eetcafé Royal has been working with Unitouch's systems. The reason? Royal wanted to work with timers! Tycho explains: “We wanted to reach a point where we DON'T talk in the kitchen. You work with your screen, and everything you need to do is on there. Every dish is assigned a time. This way, every order is scheduled on time and appears on the screen in colors when you can start working on it.” This is how Eetcafé Royal ensures that all guests are served within a certain time. Tycho: “We make far fewer mistakes, the dishes go out at the same time, and we notice that everyone works in a relaxed manner, even while serving 400 guests.”
Next to Eetcafé Royal, there's also Bar Slak, a terrace that prominently sits on the street. You can see the bartender shaking cocktails and pouring the finest wines. The system is set up so that you can split between the bars. “Ideal! With the push of a button, the other bar opens too,” says Tycho. He continues, “We get quite a lot of different guests throughout the day and at many different times. That's why we can scale up and down what we use.".
